11 week update!

Stella has been here almost a month already! I wish I would have started taking a picture of her in a chair next to a teddy bear or something, something to gauge her growth better. It's hard to tell in pictures how much she's grown! She goes to the vet on Thursday for her 3rd round of vax's.
We found out that when off her leash or tie out, she can be a runner! Since she's been 'older', we really can't let her run around anymore, 2 times she's ran to Carol's and once, Luke opened the porch door and she snuck out and ran towards 8th street, running after a biker. The nice lady stopped and Emily grabbed Stella. Emily was a scared, crying mess. We've had the talks about how and why we need Stella to stay safe, always having her on her tie out or leash until we have a fully fenced in yard, or until she's past the puppy stage and can be trusted. Emily was pretty mad at Luke, that's for sure. She is such a responsible, attentive kid. I guess that's a downfall to having a dog in town, no land to run free!

She loves being outside, especially in the early mornings after getting up and in the evenings. It never fails in the mornings, she goes potty and then pulls back on her leash, letting me know she wants to stay out. Unfortunately, the grass has been wet in the mornings, which means the little spots of black dirt are wet, which makes for a dirty puppy. We know. Hopefully this summer it won't be so wet out right away and she can get her wish! She has her certain spots of shade during the day that she lays in, goes crazy over fresh "chewies" (her rawhide chips) and will lay outside for an hour chewing on one, and has now earned her first official nickname (besides the usual Stelly Belly, Stell Bell, Stellar, Princess, etc...) It's June Bug...can you guess why?

She's totally going to be one of those dogs that roll to their backs when encountered, expecting a belly scratch. She loves it! And we sure love her.
