The anatomy of a snowman...

We took a walk over to the park yesterday for the first snowman building adventure of the winter.

Getting started!

Great Auntie Mona gave Emily this snowman building kit when she was younger, the kids love it!

A fight brewing over the last button...

Done~

All done playing...time to put the snowman back in the box!
How could I forget the highlights of the venture! We saw 11 dogs (a boxer, 2 springer spaniels, beagle, 2 black labs, a (huge) great dane, weiner dog, a big poodle, and mutts X 2) and 6 airplanes. Like Emily said on the way home...."We sure saw alot of stuff today!"

Another Tuesday...

The girls doing an 'ice skating' show...

A boy thing?

Luke has started this obnoxious thing of taking off his pj's and diaper in the crib! Emily NEVER did this. And a few times he's peed. Untying the bumper ties, taking out the mattress and putting a new pad and sheet on, and retying all the bumper ties gets really old, really fast. I don't feel he's ready to potty train yet, and it wouldn't really matter anyways for when he's sleeping right now, so the past few nights I've tried to deter him by putting him in a large Fuzzibunz with a microfiber insert wrapped in a microfiber towel....and he hasn't bothered it! I guess the snaps are to hard to get off. I never really liked cloth diapering at night too, but it'll work!

And we're on the lookout for a twin size race car bed (Little Tikes, Step 2, whatever!) to transition him into soon, so if you see any deals, let me know!

Getting everyone ready for the party...

Lately, Emily has been having 'parties.' She'll get her dolls, stuffed animals, Webkinz, whatever...dressed up to go to parties. She'll get herself ready too by getting into her favorite dress up dress (which is a hand me down from neighbor Rylie, I think it was an old Easter dress!) , putting on a crown and jewelry, picking out a purse and making sure there's her money and cell phone in it, and brushing her teeth!

Treasures

Emily was out with Daddy doing some outside stuff the other day and she found a bunch of icicles, wrapped them in paper towels and put them in the freezer. I wonder if they are still in there!

Do ya really blame him?

Ever since our dreaded doctor appointment, the kids play doctor kit has been used lots by them. Right now, I hear Emily giving Luke a check-up (the shot part) and him fussing to get away. In frustration, Emily yells "No, Luke! I just want your blood!"

Poor kid.

Patients

The kids had check ups today. Things were going so well!
Emily was 46.5 lbs and 45" and wrote her name perfect for Dr. Krueger.

Luke was a tad over 31 lbs and 36" and was very good for Dr. Krueger, even drew a circle for her! They were both in the 75-90%.

Emily played 'doctor' while they were waiting...

Then all hell broke loose...

Emily: 4 shots including the flu
Luke: 3 shots including the flu, he was overdue for 6, but I wasn't even considering doing that to him, so we'll be back in a month to get the second dose of the flu shot and finish the rest. I request a lead test every year also since we live in an extremely old house with probably even older soil that they play in all summer, so it's pretty necessary for us. So that was an extra finger prick to seal the deal. For some reason, that was the worst for Emily, we were a few seconds away from calling a set of backup hands to hold her down. But, she did it and we're done!

In hopes of making her cooperate better, I told Emily she could pick something fun to do...so McD's playland it was :) Late lunch and lots of playtime! We were the only ones there!

Up in the wiggly ball...

and the train!

He looks so old here!
Peek!

Here they come!

We were there during the mass of buses that were heading out of town to bring kids home. Luke was amazed to see that many in a row!
