Soooo close....

Logan is soooo close to walking full time (as he should be, he'll be 14 months in 4 days!).  Yesterday he exploded with desire to try it a lot.  He was walking 4-5 feet at times.  From the toybox all the way over to Sis by Luke's closet!  Yes, he has a toothbrush in his mouth, his latest obsession.  If we took it away, he'd get mad.  We replaced it with his phone before he ended up with a toothbrush jammed down his throat.  He was a riot.  I told Emily that Logan was full of piss and vinegar yesterday.  She kept saying "What?!"  (I'd repeat it, and she continued)  Then I told her she'd have to Google it.

Oh, I should explain this picture.  Logan loves finding everyone's belly buttons.  I had someone over a week or so ago to buy some cloth diapers and she laid her little guy down to try one for size and Logan scoots right over to find his belly button.  It was cute.  Your mid section is not safe from baby fingers here!

Healthy Kids day

I took the girls over to the middle school yesterday for Winona Health's Healthy Kids day event.  They chose Zumba and a scavenger hunt for their 2 events.  Parents got to hear 2 seminars, first from the dietitian at Hyvee who spoke about healthy foods for your family and the systems Hyvee uses to make shopping easier and the 2nd was the kids pediatrician about raising healthy kids!  Good informative stuff.

following suit

Logan is getting lovely curly locks in the back like his big brother.  But unlike Luke had at this age, he isn't getting much in the front!  We officially have a toddler mullet.  I hate to cut it yet.  We need to get big brother in for a birthday trim though, his comes to the middle of his back ( or longer!) when wet, but with it this long, he grew his ringlets back!  Ahhh, what to do, what do.....

sectionals

Here are a few pictures from the meet in Albert Lea over the weekend, nothing too great, but I am loving my new fancy zoom lens for swim meets.  We were way up there!  (Thank Deeda)  Emily did good, we're learning she really needs to get her starting dive off the block perfected.  But, that will come with age and experience.  She needs to go "out", not "down."  She's really improving on speed too!  It'll be fun to see her develop over the years.  Nana and Papa came down for the meet too, lots of extra hands to hold 2 boys!  Especially when the meets are long, hot and boring for them.

baby boombox

Here is Logan watching Daddy shovel while dancing to music.  Every baby needs one of these toys   http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Einstein-Take-Along-Tunes/dp/B000YDDF6O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1327502402&sr=8-2  We have the older version, but all my "babies" loved it!  Perfect baby gift.

swim season....(so far)

Emily is part of the Winona YMCA's swim team!  She is really enjoying being a WinFin, as they call their team.  She has participated in 3 home meets so far and next weekend we are off to Albert Lea for sectionals and the U of M in February for the final tournament.  Here are a few pictures from a previous meet and yesterday!
Her "numbers."
Far lane, working hard on her backstroke.
Lane 2, on the starting block.
Getting ready for another backstroke race.
These are all from yesterday...diving off the block for her leg of the relay.
Finishing strong in the butterfly.
Enjoying crash time.  They race a total (and max) of 5 events.  The meet itself, including warm-ups, is about 5-6 hours long.  So, she swims approximately every 20-30 minutes.  In between, all these kids seem to do is eat!  I suppose, swimming does make you hungry.  She wants to remember for next time to bring her Ipod and DS.
Breaststroke....she started out neck and neck with the girl in the blue cap and then pushed ahead to get first!

Proud of you Babe!  I'm excited to be a swim mom for (hopefully) the next 10+ years.  Hopefully the boys will get into swimming also, how convenient would that be to have all 3 kids in the same team?!

and now there were 5!

5 grand kids that is.  We finally got to meet our new niece Katelyn last weekend!  Mark, Josey, Deeda and the girls came down to visit.  And have a little late Christmas too.

Emily brought out the Twister game....

My attempt at all 5, hopefully Uncle Mark got something better!

Sisters.
Luke checking out his new baby cousin.
And Luke wanting no part in being a "kissing cousin!"

preschool pj day!

Luke had their annual winter pajama day at preschool on Friday....it was extra special because he was scheduled to bring snack that day also!  Which was along the lines of our usual, Teddy Grahams, cheese, canned chunk pineapple and milk.  Hey, he picks it :)  Usually we do Scooby Snack crackers but he had mentioned a day last week that someone had brought them, so we changed it up a bit.  They are also learning about bears and hibernation, so bears were requested too!

New Years weekend

Nana and Papa came to visit over New Years weekend, it was kind of another Christmas too.  Papa picked out some CAT trucks for the boys.  They love them.  Luke is always finding things to tow away and Logan knows just what to do to make his move.

Appropriate shirt for our house!

Emily got some cute clothes and accessories...

and a Babycakes machine!
The first batch was just for practice ....

then they came out nicely!

Luke and Papa did lots of Hidden Picture puzzles....

and then we ended New Years with an intense game of BINGO!  Poor Logan, it was about 9-10pm and he was exhausted.

Nana brought prizes for the BINGO winners....

Papa won Logan a glitter ball.

And Luke was beyond thrilled to have finally won the gum candy cane he was pining over!

Finally, a late bedtime story....Happy New Year!
