We couldn't leave without walking over to the Kalona Elementary school playgound!

That's it! It was a bummer that we were there over a Sunday and a holiday since our usual 'touristy' spots, The Cheese Factory and the amish grocery store, were closed. Hopefully next summer!

Luke snoozin'...in my bed...the wrong direction. My kids are not cosleepers by nature, and they both hate(d) sleeping in pack n plays, so that leaves Mommy to sleep with Luke and be gradually forced to the edge of the bed all night. What ya do for your kids, huh?

The next morning...City of Kalona park. Dave's aunt and uncle, Craig and Verrena, and cousins, Julianne and Christine met us at the park for a BBQ. The kids had so much fun!

Iowa 2008

Late Saturday night after getting to the hotel...Emily was asleep right away, but Luke still wanted to party so he was doing 'Where is Thumbkin' for us all.

We are off to Iowa to visit some of Daves family for a long weekend. Pictures next week!

Preschool....year 2....done!

Last year on this day!

This morning! (a little taller wouldn't you say?)

Em's last day of preschool for this year was today. Not too emotional since she still has 1 more year left, but a memory making day for sure! Next year she'll go back to the same place with basically the same 3 day a week schedule, but we added the Tuesday afternoon "Kindergarten enrichment" class. Some of the kids in her class are switching to afternoons for their last year of preschool to start 'adapting' to being in school at that time, but not us. I will still have a little guy at home that will nap in the afternoons....whether he likes it or not! Luckily, Emily isn't the type of kid that loses it in the middle of the day, so we should be ok!

Luke's first t-ball set was a hit! (pun intended) He's showing really good athleticism for a such a little guy, especially throwing. And Em is joining the baseball craze as well and wants us to pitch to her while she hits. She's doing great too! No t-ball for her until next summer, but we have this summer to practice! Maybe now we have a reason to get the pink baseball glove at Target :)
