Barney's return

The other day, the kids had Barney on TV. It didn't look like a DVD or VHS that we have though.

Lo and behold, it was back on PBS! The boys sat and watched it a bit. Hopefully Logan will enjoy it when he's a toddler too.

I've picked up a few old VHS tapes at the Salvation Army. Old, like from when I used to babysit my (already graduated from high school) cousins Lane and Megan!

Our baby has learned to dance! We have this learning puppy that sings and does all sorts of fun stuff. Singing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" is one of them. He started waving his arms, we capitalized on his smartness, and now he does it for almost all tunes!

Stella has been so good with not digging in her desired hole. Until the other day. Luke likes to sit in this certain corner where the yard and sidewalk meet. Pick the grass, dig the dirt, throw the pebbles, etc. It's awfully close to the hole we used to have to cover again and again when Stella would dig a lot. I think Luke started digging in it and she must have thought it was fair game. I look out and she has half her body underground. With Luke right there giggling beside her.

The kids had a lemonade stand over the weekend. Emily has been wanting to do one forever. Since Rylie was at Carol's, I finally gave the go ahead. They did well, even taped signs on the back of Luke's trike/trailer and had him go up and down the sidewalk. The girls put lemonade in a little wagon and went around the block, which I wasn't aware of at first. They were back unscathed and with a .10 tip for the delivery to a guy at the end of the alley. Have I ever expressed my extreme fear of strangers and my kids..... :/ They made $4.60. Rylie asked if we could go to Disney World now. If only Disney World cost $5 kiddo! Last week, Emily had a run it with the sidewalk and her Razor. Chins, knees, knuckles and bellies were involved. Poor kid. We're working hard on healing the evidence before school starts though.

baseball and back to school

2011 Summer Park & Rec baseball picture. In the past few years, we've always been gone the 2nd week of baseball when pictures are taken...not this year! Baseball is done, as are most of the kids summer activities. One more week of gymnastics, a week or 2 break (can't remember!) and then it'll start back up when school starts. Got a Y swim team brochure, thinking of signing Emily up. They have a stroke clinic for a month, starting in September and then regular practices start in October. The clinic and practices are M/W/F from 2:45-3:15 only. If she could ride the Y bus after school, hang out in the Youth Center for a half hour, practice and then I pick her up.....would be awesome. I'll have to check that out. If not, I need to drag the boys in and out when school's out, dropping Em off at the Y, and picking her up. Almost all winter :/ School supplies have been bought! Backpack that I got last year filled. Here's to a great 2nd grade!

big wheel baby

Emily took Logan on his first Big Wheel ride last night. No babies were hurt in the taking of these pictures, she was going at a snails pace ;) Just added a little excitement when she'd "vrooom & stop" with a little jerk. He laughed so hard! The kids use their Big Wheels so much, by the time Logan is ready for one, Luke will probably either still use his or it will be too worn out. We got these at Target about 3 years ago, when they brought back The Original Big Wheel. Of course, go try to find them now and this is what's out there....http://www.amazon.com/Original-Wheel-Trike-Racer-Brake/dp/B00449JJBY/ref=pd_sim_t_7 a new model with a "spin out brake." For over twice the money as the Target ones. funny man

Logan has started to be aware of what's funny, or at least, funny to him. When he's in his highchair, he loves to get a reaction from me as he teases about throwing his sippy cup on the floor. The other day, he was sitting with Daddy and let out a big burp. Naturally, we all laughed and he looked around at all of us with a big smile and giggles very proudly.
