Say what?

Lately, Luke's vocabulary has been making people's heads turn. We were at Walmart looking at books. I had picked up "Marley and Me" to read the back cover. Luke say's "touch it!", but for someone that isn't his mother, you may have thought you heard him say "Dog shit!" *which of course we happened to be looking at a book with a dog on it, so extra funny*

Or when we were leaving Gymnastics and he was holding the van keys saying "Push it!" *buttons on the key fob* Although the man walking in to pick up his daugher probably heard "Bull shit!" coming from a 2 year olds mouth.

Or the most criminal being when he yells out his desire to "Walk!" Instead, it sounds too similar to another 4 letter word that ends with a K.

All I can do is cover up his potty mouth by repeating the words he's TRYING to say, right? Gotta love 2 year olds.

I'm not sure what's worse?

This... the fact that it will probably be another foot taller before I actually do it, or that I technically could go another 2-3 weeks without doing before they would even need clean clothes.

Morning get-together....

We went over to Bridget and Colleen's house yesterday morning to spend a few hours since there wasn't storytime at the library. The kids painted some Valentine cookies with egg yolks and food coloring and had lots of fun playing! Luke sure loved their collapsable tunnel/tent with all the basketball hoops and places to throw balls.

The girls starting their cookies.

Some of the finished product...

Working so seriously on his cookies...

I just had Dave's little camera and Emily's been wanting to take pictures with it alot lately, mostly of the cats. She took this one of Miss Colleen.

Lunchtime! What a fun morning! We had to get back into town to get Emily to preschool, but I'm hoping we get another invite to come visit again soon ;) Bridget and Colleen have the BEST backyard to make snowmen and do a little bit of sledding. So here's to a big dumping of snow and a beautiful, sunny, 30 degree winter day!

All smiles

Gymnastics

Emily's been in Gymnastics since September so I figured it's about time to take some pictures!

Warm-ups...

Luke watching sis...

Working on cartwheels...

Learning to go from cartwheel to a gentle roll down. No idea what it's called :)

Luke kept wanting to go be by Emily, he was running after her saying "Emma, ug!" and "Emma, old and!" (Emma hug/Emma hold hand) She came up to him and gave him a big hug (where was my camera then!). The few mom's that were sitting watching said "Awwww, how sweet!" and things like that. Very proud Mommy moment :) Times like that sure make me feel like I'm doing something right!

Luke found his way over to the toddler/preschool gym and met a little guy named James who played his cars with Luke so nicely.

James' little brother Jackson crawled over to join the "Cars" fun. I made sure to let James mom know (when she came in to get Jackson) how nice he shared his toys with Luke. I always like it when other people let me know when my kids are well-behaved &/or helpful, so I figured I'd pay it forward.
So unless I have some quick errands to run with just Luke...that's how we spend our Thursdays from 3-4pm! Hopefully this spring I'll get another group of pictures and see how much Emily's progressed.

Emily and Bridget

We had Bridget over again yesterday...the girls were much too busy for pictures, but I NEEDED to get at least 1 of them in their matching sweaters Katie got them for Christmas. Bribing with gumballs worked!

Big Boy Haircut (sort of)

It's time! Luke went in for his first (professional) haircut this morning. Erica has trimmed it a few times in the past, but she suggested to take him in to a salon for the 'big' one. So, we went to the Fantastic Sam's. A great lady with a heavy German accent cut his hair. She said he was "sheik" which she says means handsome and cool :) I totally agree. He did very good and sat nice with his cup of "M'ies" (m&m's), therefore the chocolate on the face.

She said someday he'll laugh at this picture. I bet :) Seeing this picture, his hair must have been really long before. Just a few nights ago I cut a good inch off in the bathtub because it was becoming snarly at the ends.

All done! Still long, but not too long :)

Cleaning off....

A celebratory Wal-Mart trip!

This month, last year (round 2)

January 2008 pictures were pretty sparse! Looks like it was alot of hanging around home with minimal clothing and chapped faces :) Hmmm...sounds familiar.
Luke's favorite past time that winter...

2 bottom teeth finally came through!

You can definitely tell it's January with Em's chapped face!

and Lukes!
