Little Ulee gave us quite a scare a few weeks ago. He started throwing up blood :( Of course, Dave wasn't home and I'm not the most dignified cat health expert. I tried to clean it up so Emily wouldn't see and wait it out until he either got better or worse, or until Dave got home to figure out what to do. But, he ended up doing it upstairs when she was up there and it naturally made her very sad and very scared :( I am so not ready to do the 'pet death' talk with her yet, and I'm sure it will be fast approaching given the ages of our pets. Anyways, he eventually quit throwing up, but then he secluded himself in the basement for several days, no eating, drinking, litter box using....so we expected the worst. Dave took him to the vet since he was going to be gone and well, quite honestly, I didn't want him dying when Dave wasn't home. Low and behold, he seemed to check out fine at the vet, with just a case of nasty dehydration. Came home, took some more time to himself in the basement, did a little more throwing up (but not blood) and eventually started eating and drinking some. After a few more days, he seemed to be back to normal! So after the bladder (and money) draining episode of 2004, we'll say he is on #3 of his 9 lives.
