Logan's typical play phone conversations usually go like this.... "Hewow?"  "Are you there?"  "Oh!"  Rinse and repeat.  He has been talking so much lately, like full sentences and clear words!  It's pretty fun to hear.

egg hunt @ SMU

 St. Mary's University was having an Easter egg hunt on Sunday.... we decided to head over there early and check it out since Emily swims at 3 anyways.  They had a fun time, long line for the actual "hunt" though.  They played games and got candy and prizes, so all was good.

 Those 2 year olds get away with lots of cheating during the games!

 The hunt begins!  You were able to find 6 eggs that matched the color of your given basket.  Each egg had a piece of paper in it which directed you to a certain table full of goodies and prizes to choose from.

homemade ice cream

 Emily got the itch to make homemade ice cream, so she Googled the directions and did it all on her own.  She wanted a treat while watching the Kids Choice awards Saturday night.  Although she got tired of the shaking, so Luke and I took over.

LEGOS

 I've been waiting for this day for a long time!  Luke is finally into LEGOS.  That's pretty much all he wants to do now, which is a good thing!  Hopefully in no time, he'll be able to do the larger sets all on his own.  Yesterday, he and Dad worked on the fuel tanker truck and he and I (Emily needs credit too, she started bag 1) did the cement truck.  We're not into the Star Wars or any of that stuff, strictly the "City" builds only.  It's surprisingly very addicting.... there's just something about clicking those tires on when the build is close to done.  From now on, when family asks for gift ideas, we know what to say!

 Emily has been into the Friends Legos since she came home from a friends house with a little kit a few months ago.  She has quite a collection so far!  I wish she would have been into them a couple years go to get more use out of them.  Seems like Lego holds it's value so I'm writing down the price paid for each kit on the directions and I can sell them in a couple years when she will probably be no longer interested.  I should at least get half the price paid I think.

Papa is going to attempt something like this for the boys made with IKEA storage units.... 

and I'm hoping to find a simple coffee table at a thrift store and bond a couple Duplo plates on it for Logan, similar to this...  

I did find a couple neat solid wood smaller chairs at the Salvation Army this week for a Lego table... it's a start!

good finds

Emily and I (and sometimes Logan) sometimes head to the Salvation Army during the week, when Luke is at karate.  I really should take pictures after every time we go since we always manage to find a little something great. This week we got a few VHS tapes (like usual.. the Barney one already made it to the living room) and a couple like new card games.  I've been dying to get an original UNO game with the old graphics, none of junk they use now.  I also finally found a Scrabble game with wood tiles, and this one looks like it has an extra set of tiles from a newer game too.  And at .50 each for games and puzzles, it's a steal.  Someday I want to do this project...  maybe I can even find the darker colored tiles for Robison.  We'll leave out the year date though, haha.  Emily found a pair of Aeropostale jeans for $3 and I found a Nike dri-fit athletic shirt for Luke for a $1.

"teets"

 We usually take baths and brush teeth together (not together, but at the same time).  Logan was in the tub when Dave got home the other night.  He hollered up and asked if Logan could have a treat (m&ms are "teets" in our house).  In efforts to still get teeth brushing done, he got to enjoy them in the tub!  He also polished up his counting and colors too.

spring break

Boring spring break week here....   we had hopes of going to the eagle center and Lark either Monday or Thursday since Dave was home, but we got to pick from a snowstorm or a snow/ice storm!  No thanks.  Instead we made like 20 trips to the library (ok, 3) and a couple to Family Video.  So, the kids have had a good balance of reading a ton of books and watching a ton of movies.  Emily read a graphic novel version of Twilight and wanted to rent the movie, so we did.  She got bored with the movie half way through.  Maybe she's too young yet.  Although she did enjoy comparing the similarities of the book vs. movie, what she watched anyways.  Reading and watching movies keeps the house clean too, so....  Emily went to Lark with Wynnie and got to spend the day at the store.  I guess she had the experience of busing tables!
