Em and Luke were playing so nice outside together they other day. Emily staying right beside him biking around the block, pulling each other in the wagon, taking turns on things, agreeing on who's playing who in "House", digging in the sandbox, etc. I had to take a picture while it lasted! I'm doing the finishing touches on the kids summer activities this week. They'll be busy.
Very busy. But I guess that's a good thing! There will still be plenty of weeks, or times in the day to just chill and take in summer break with nothing scheduled. Emily starts the stroke clinic for WinFins at the end of the month and then will start summer team practice M-TH for an hour, through about mid-August. Both the kids are going to Y Camp with the Baumbich girls in the end of July. Luke can now go all day/every day! Both are doing a week at Park & Rec camp. Emily opted for doubling up on her Park & Rec camp week, doing the AM
and PM sessions one week. I remember one year her doing the PM session and they took a field trip to the aquatic center, so hopefully we'll hit a good weather week and they'll do that. Luke is now old enough to do T-ball and Emily decided
not to do the girls softball through Park & Rec. this year. At her age now, it sounds like they combine 3-5 grade and play real games. As my typical "non-ball" sport girl (as in, doesn't care for any sports that use a ball :), she wasn't too excited about that. Which is fine, 1 night a week over at Lions Park for T-ball will be plenty! Both are doing a session of swim lessons at the aquatic center. Since Emily is in Level 6, or passed out of 6, she can do a strictly Diving class. Hopefully she'll learn better strategies for getting off the block and rising more efficient. Luke passed out of Level 1 at WSU last session, so he will be hopefully learning lots in Level 2 this summer! Luke will start Karate soon, we just need to figure out when and where. I stopped in a studio downtown and got some information, but it's definitely cheaper to go through the Y. We'll see... I think he'll love it. He's certainly into kicking and taking jabs at Emily at times ;) Emily is going to try a horse camp this summer as well. The one I would really love to try is going on during the week of the Winona County Fair and she has some stuff she needs to do for Llamateers that week. Seriously, who holds their one and only horse camp the week of the fair?! Aren't a lot of girls interested in horses probably in 4H :/ There is another local one that we will probably try, it's $25 cheaper (I've found out horse camps aren't cheap), but it's also only half days and
not on the Friday. So, needless to say, I'm kinda disappointed. But, she's really looking forward to it, so we'll get her in somewhere. Now we just need to figure out what to do for gymnastics this summer. She
really wants to do summer league this summer, which is 2 nights a week for 2 hours each. Or she can continue her 90 minutes, 1 night a week. (umm, lots cheaper!) I can tell the more she goes to gymnastics, the more she improves. They don't say "practice makes perfect" for nothing. Whew! They'll be busy, but I think it will be more busy weeks rather than lots of busy days.
