We made a pit stop at the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge on the way home. Emily and I went to the observation deck and we drove the "Wildlife" trail. Lots and lots of prairie grass and flowers. I guess people canoe, bird watch and whatnot there. There was a neat looking trail that went into the woods to the marsh, but nobody was up for walking 3/4 mi. Even the dog. We also stopped at Bluff Siding park (Buffalo Park?), but Luke promptly got stung by a bee 3 times while driving the bus! Twice on his cheek and once on his hand when he must have slapped at it. Poor guy. He was fine shortly after. Stella was up in front and somehow she accidently flipped the AC on higher and sat in front of it, hair and ears blowing! It looked so intentional that the kids thought it was the funniest thing ever, I don't think Luke has ever laughed so hard! It made the bee sting pain go away at least. Hopefully we'll get back to Perrot soon and do some more exploring. Whitewater State Park is up next at the end of the month, let's hope for good weather!
