Tanner

I'm writing this with a very sad heart. Our Tanner is not doing very well at all. He is in congestive heart failure and his chest cavity is filled with fluid. He has been coughing/hacking/wheezing for quite some time and I had just passed it off as getting old.

It has progressively gotten worse over the past few days so he went to the vet yesterday. His heart is 50% larger than should be and it's putting pressure on his sternum. He goes into coughing spells and has now starting coughing up reddish fluid since being home. He was given 2 different medications, one to help clear is lungs and one to try and reduce the size of his heart. He won't take either for me wrapped in cheese or meat as directed, after many attempts. He won't get comfortable and lay down, won't go outside or upstairs, he just stands and tries to breathe. He won't eat or drink anymore. I think we are going to lose him soon. I'm devastated.
