Taking a shower! She never gets to because Luke is usually with and well, they go home and get right in the tub anyways, so it's not really practical. But, this time she talked me into it!Monday, January 12, 2009
Remnants of Christmas!
We had Emily's (last!) preschool Christmas program this morning. It was supposed to be the week before Christmas, but it fell on a snow day. So, Christmas is NOW officially over for us! She did good, every year she seems to do a bit more participating. There's kids who go all out with the hand actions and loud singing voices and kids that keep their hands in their pockets. Emily's right in between :) 
Luke loves hanging out in Em's preschool room, especially since he doesn't get to very often. My choice, not his :) He gets locked in the van during drop off and pick ups for Emily otherwise it would be a fight every single time to get him to leave.
Watching for Em to come in! One of the kids grandmas later said to me about Luke..."Oh, look at her so brave to be up there with her big sister! How old is she?" Oh well, can't really blame her. His hair was a bit unruly today :)

Emily's teachers are always so nice and accomodating with siblings, which is great and makes things like this much less stressful knowing that it's ok that he's 'participating'. Luke got a bell and could join in!
Look at how tall she's becoming! It'll be interesting to see her next to her Kindergarten peers this year, since it seems like she's really shot up lately. It's hard to judge from the preschool group since they can range from 3-5 years old.

Christmas Eve on Sesame Street
Every single night after bath, they get wrapped in their towels and stand by Emily's bed to watch some of "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street." Still. In January. And they have been probably since around Halloween. Luke even says some lines before the characters do. I think I'm going to try and find a new copy to put away for him since it's already 'old school' Sesame Street. Who knows how much longer it will be published? He sure loves it!Ramblings from Christmas break...
I think this might be a record for the longest I haven't posted! We've been around, just haven't had the camera out much ...even with the cold and snow keeping us in lots. I started a project of going though all our digital print files, dated back to November 2003. Every. Single. Picture. Which is actually alot of work. I'm trying to separate all the images I want to have hard copies of so I can get my albums in order. I'm on April 2008, so definitely on the down slope!
Luke has had a cold since the Monday after Christmas...nothing too serious, just some sneezing, coughing, and of course, a runny nose. I think that's what makes him the most miserable because then he gets chapped lips which he likes to complain about. He's also right on track with 'his' New Years resolution....no more boo-boo (nursing)! It's only been since Saturday, but no turning back now. He's been such a trooper about going to sleep without it, especially nap times. Last night he tried to make me give in a few times, but we are doing lots of rocking and lots of cuddling his Sesame Street pals and lots of checking to see if my boo-boo is still "boken" and "urt" (broken and hurt) since there is a band-aid on it. I highly recommend this as a weaning device for an 'older' toddler since they can comprehend more and are more empathetic than say, a 1 year old. So far, so good!

We got bored enough over winter break that we cleaned out and organized the bathroom cabinet. The kids have always enjoyed doing this!
Done! I promise it really does look much better :)
