The kids started back to school this week....preschool, 2nd grade and 5th grade! Em and Luke's school decided to follow the district trend and have the first day an orientation. But, Logan had his first official day of preschool on Tuesday.
Bright and early Wednesday morning for the first official day and first day for the bus. The bus comes about 10-15 minutes earlier this year. Ugh. It's not that much earlier, but it sure feels like it in the 6 o'clock am hours. Logan is doing preschool 3 mornings a week for 3 hours each day and 1 morning of ECFE. I'm toying with sending him to preschool Fridays also, but still on the fence. He really likes it and it isn't overwhelming at all for him, so.... Plus, I still get to spend Saturday and Sunday mornings with him, right? If he doesn't this year, he'll definitely do preschool 4 mornings next year. Emily gets to start a band instrument this year. She's leaning towards the saxophone. Her first thought was the flute, but apparently everyone is playing that. She's officially a "middle schooler" but not at the traditional middle school. She's in her same montessori class as last year and will be for 1 more year before transitioning to a middle school/junior high type setting. She loves bows and braids in her hair, hot pink, her Camelbak, her iTouch, swim, AG and playing with her friends. Swim season starts next week. It'll be quite a change this year as she has a late practice, 5:30-7pm 5 nights a week. And once regular team practice starts, an extra half hour 2 days a week for dry land practice! She'll be beat, but it will be good for her. Rylie is back to every other weekends with Carol, so Em's spending some time with them tonight. Luke stays in his same class as last year again this year, and also next year in 3rd grade. Luke loves mowing the lawn, weed wacking, Lego City, watching Lego city and Lego Movie videos, riding his scooter and playing in the sandbox with Logan. He really wishes he had a friend in the 'hood to play with, but we really don't know of anyone yet! He is keeping up with karate 2 nights a week and piano weekly. The boys also start up swim lessons again soon. I planned them during the time when Emily is at practice, so hopefully it will run smoothly. Crossing fingers that Logan cooperates this time! He tells me he will. Riiiight.
